Program Description:
Study, Internship, Volunteer or Research International Experience

BY CLICKING THE "Register Now" BUTTON, YOU ARE BEGINNING A PROGRAM REGISTRATION APPLICATION WHICH INDICATES YOU WILL BE TRAVELING ABROAD FOR A NON-CREDIT EXPERIENCE.

Please read the following information carefully.

Texas A&M University recognizes the need for its employees and students to travel abroad on official university business. The Texas A&M University Standard Administrative Procedure 21.01.03.M0.02 for Foreign Travel enumerates the process for obtaining prior approvals for foreign travel, funding information, and additional requirements when travel is to an international destination.

Registering your independent international travel for a study, internship, volunteer, or research is required if any of the following apply:
  • Receiving credit (TAMU or transfer) for the experience
  • Receiving any support from a TAMU entity (e.g. funding or arranging experience)
  • Satisfying a degree or graduation requirement (e.g. thesis or dissertation research)
The entire registration must be completed prior to your departure in order to obtain a confirmation of travel.

This application is for programs not maintained by our office.
*Program providers we maintain and list in our Education Abroad Portal include: Absolute Internship, AIB, AIFS, API, BCA Study Abroad, CEA, CIEE, Global Experiences, GVI (Global Vision International), ISA/Veritas, Kukulcan, The School for Field Studies (SFS), Sol Education Abroad, SRAS, The Education Abroad Network (TEAN), and USAC.

Travel to Extreme Risk Country(ies):
All students participating in a university-sponsored experience to a country or region listed on the TAMUS Country Risk Summaries list may require additional approval from the University president prior to departure. This approval process is facilitated through Education Abroad.

**NOTE:  Students pursing transfer credit programs have a dual application process. Therefore, completing the Texas A&M education abroad application DOES NOT automatically enroll you in your program.  Rather, if approved, your accepted application indicates that Texas A&M Education Abroad approves you to participate in your intended program.

You will also need to apply directly through the sponsoring program provider or institution in order to enroll and participate in the education abroad program.  Please check with the program provider or institution for more information.
